Aluminum material thickness for plank on a regular truck bed is .078"

However this is not an indication of the total strength of the truck bed. A lot of other factors are at play like the ribs on top of the planks adding strength. Each plank hangs on the one next to it adding strength. Each plank has 3 legs that add strength. Plus all the other welded aluminum parts that are engineered to maximize strength.

We typically overbuild our truck beds and trailers to 2x safety factor or more. You will hit the load limit of your truck axle before hitting the load limit of the truck bed.
